Prometheus Rescue Mission

Promtheus Rescue Mission (PRM) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit research institute dedicated to ending aging-related disorders. PRM's Aging-Related Degenerative Disorders Unit, headed by Managing Director, founder, and PD/PI Dr. Owen D. Sanders, MD, is focused for now on ending Alzheimer's disease (AD), the most common cause of dementia and the most common aging-related neurodegenerative disorder. The current goal is to achieve net reversal of early AD, i.e., reversing the sign/direction of early AD progression, operationalized tentatively as early AD patients getting sustainably better by at least 3 MMSE points annually, which is purportedly the average rate of cognitive decline in AD patients. Sufficient evidence of having achieved this preliminarily will be this being shown in a 2-year/48-month randomized placebo/sham-controlled clinical trial. After that, the goal will be to achieve net reversal in moderate-to-severe AD patients as well. Once this goal is achieved, the team will consider expanding operations to other indications, such as Parkinson's disease, osteoarthritis, and biological aging itself more generally. Furthermore, once we gain sufficient resources and have made sufficient progress on aging-related degenerative disorders for the time being, we plan to create an Aging-Related Proliferative Disorders Unit to address aging-related cancers.
